Hello all!
Its been a year since I have a turtle. It is 4" SCL. I need just some suggestions as to how to go about it's feeding habits. Here are the specifics of the current habits-
5-6 turtle pellets alternate days.
2 big lettuce leaves per day(each in morning and evening).
Carrot peelings once or twice a week.
Some fruits occasionally.
Am I right if I plan on reducing the amount of the food that I give it?

The feeding sounds OK, you can probably do a bit more pellets or mix it with other brands for variety. What kind of lettuce? Do you know if you have a male or female?

Regarding the gender confirmation I have posted in another topic. As for now, I'm not sure on the gender. So 10 pellets alternate day is fine? Basic lettuce. I tried feeding romaine and red leaf lettuce but it would just take a bite after all. I'll try again later!

How many do you think will fit in her head, if it were empty? I'm not sure what you mean by basic lettuce, is that like iceberg lettuce? if so, they don't have much nutrition in them. If you get red leaf, the areas by the stem are nice and soft. I'd consider trying some cuttlebone as well.

The feeding sounds fine. You can use pellets everyday, but with 1/2 the amount. It's fine to miss the occasional feeding. I also prefer to feed lettuce in the morning, and pellets in the evening.
