Turtle diets and eating habits discussed here.

Alright Ive reviewed Steves turtle food review site its great but, whats the best food.

My turtle: RES
Approx 6month old
Will not eat any veggy of any kind found on the face of this earth.
Has slight pyramiding due to lack of knowledge till I found this site.

So now I feed him like 3-4 pellets/sticks aday but I feel bad cause that seems like nothing at all. I usually dust probably half of his pellets with calcium/d3 supplement.

So Im looking for a food that is healthy, could potential offer a little more without causing fast growth rate and will help promote shedding of chutes.

Every suggested food with alot of Vitamin E or wheat germ to help shedding according to steves website is impossible to find in my region.
Ive been to 14 pet stores een ones 1-2hours away from my house. And non offer Mazuri or hikari which seem to be the best.

So now Ill finally resort to buying online.

I guess my options are Mazuri, Hikari (Koi or Turtle?) and or JurassiDiet aquatic which othetr than this website is reviewed as apparently the best food out there

Hikari Wheat-Germ Koi pellets should be easy to find. Omega-One as well. I'd keep trying with the veggies... a veggie clip works really well.

I feed both of the foods Steve recommends. It might take a little while before it will eat veggies.

He's got veggies available all day everyday. My snails love cutting the veggies off the veggy clip but he's not interested yet.
Hikari and mazuri seem impossible to find in Ottawa. Been to all pets store except 1 and even store an hour away.
I found a koi pellet called Laguna and 1 of the 2 kinds have wheat germ but the wheat germ is like maybe middle of the ingredient list and the list is very long so I didn't bother buying.

I've seen omega one fish food but not turtle.

I have purchased a different turtle food called Exo terra adult which is only 25% protein which seems like a good idea to help minimize his quick growing. It has 2/1 calcium to phos ratio.

You can get everything you need on line probably cheaper than in stores. Ottawa KS? Sorry but your SIG doesn't say where your from.

Oops guess your location is in your SIG. You can put your location under your avatar. Oh yea, you need an avatar. :-) Any luck finding food. Maybe you could get a pet store to get you some?

I fought Hikari wafers finally which have wheat germ as second ingredient and a really high vitamin e content according to steves comparison chart.
So they should work great for promoting shute shedding.
