Feeding and Nutrition :: Changing brand of pellets

Turtle diets and eating habits discussed here.

My turtles came with the wardley brand of reptile sticks ,that's all they've had besides wardley turtle delite from their previous owner since they were captured. It's running low so I bought some reptomin to slowly start switching them to other brands. They will get mazuri as their base and I want to change it up with other pellets like reptomin, omega one, and wheat germ.
So I have been feeding them 3 wardley pellets and 2 reptomin each to try to ease them into a new food. Unfortunately they won't eat the reptomin. I'm worried about what will happen when the wardleys runs out and that they won't eat anything else.
Does anyone have any suggestions?
They also get green/red leaf lettuce, turnip greens or kale everyday though they only eat the kale so far. They're 7 months old.

If they're healthy, I wouldn't worry about the switch. For the pellets, just go ahead and do it. They'll catch on once they are hungry enough. Kale is also not as great as the other greens you're using, but that could take some more time.

Thanks Steve, that was what I was hoping. I did try some peas for a treat and Mikey liked them. I plan to plant a Organic container garden this spring so I hope the fresher stuff catches on better. I hope to grow some aquatic plants in their old 5 gallon tank too.

Check out http://redearslider.com/plants.html for some things to try. I'm hoping to grow some plants for my RES too.

So i am laughing at myself now for being worried about them not eating the reptomin. Now they will only eat the reptomin and not the wardleys! im just trying to finish the container off. Maybe ill just use them for jello shots!
