I just wanted to know everyone's opinion before I fed my turtle these. I heard good reviews about Hikari brand of food for turtles and so I figured I'd try it. I'm going to only introduce these slowly to Michelangelo as a way to upgrade him to big boy food instead of hatchling pellets. So any feedback would be appreciated as if you like this food or not and if it is a good idea to start him off with this slowly.
Thanks.

I have a package and give them occasionally to my eastern painteds (rotating with other pellets). They have a fairly high protein content, and for that's reason I give them occasionally. I think they're OK to add variety to the diet. They come in 3 colors--pink, green and tan, and each color is supposed to promote a particular function (tan, vitamins and minerals; pink, coloring; green, calcium---if I remember correctly). You can get them quite cheaply at big als ($1.79) as opposed to Petsmart (almost $6 here) as part of a larger order if you're so inclined.

Yeah I paid 7 bucks at petland for this stuff and it came in a small package, but they are the only place that carries it. And they are color coated and one is just protien enriched so I could just give him maybe one of those or something. It's just something I want to slowly introduce, maybe like one day he gets a chopped up calcium one as I don't think he's big enough yet to eat the whole stick (he's only two inches) but maybe a bit bigger compared to the hatchling pellets he's getting now would help him learn to eat the bigger stuff later on.
