Feeding and Nutrition :: Should I consider activity level?

Turtle diets and eating habits discussed here.

Gurgi is very active - he is 3in & in a full 55 gallon tank. He loves to swim, and he is continuously exploring, diving & surfacing over & over & over. Should I still stick with "amount of pellets the size of his head" for a very active turtle? I've never weighed him, perhaps I should to ease my mind... what is an ideal weight for a 3in Painted?

I don'k know about the weight but instead of head-size pellet measurement, I would spread it out and offer other types of food. Maybe increase his veggies instead.

Oh he gets red leaf every day, and plenty of it. I switch it up from time to time, but red leaf is my staple since he likes it. I have no concern with his diet at this time, just the quanity. Sometimes I think he looks too thin.

I think it's OK. Maybe you can track his weight and size?
