Won't Eat Lettuce or pellets?

My turtles used to eat green, red, and romaine lettuce every other day for five years straight. Then all the sudden, starting around October 2012, they stopped eating the lettuce altogether. They won't even eat their ReptoMin pellets, or any other pellets I have bought for them, which have been many. The only things they will eat are dried worms, shrimp, crickets, etc.. What's caused this change? I don't want to overload them on fatty foods anymore.

They're being picky. When my RES does this, I'll still feed them normally but scoop out whatever they don't touch.

Yeap. They have realised that some foods taste better than others... and wait for that occasional treat cause they know it will come!
Variety is impt in the turtles diet... but at the same time.. staples should remain as staples... treats should be offered sparingly and on a biweekly basis

I once had this female who finally gave in veggies after a long 4 day struggle... but the moment i fed her some pellets for 2 consecutive days.. she immediately stopped eating veggies all over again.. :S

If I was given only tacos and meatballs for 5 years to eat, I'd get sick of them.
