Feeding and Nutrition :: RES help!

Turtle diets and eating habits discussed here.

I have had my 2 baby RESs (Chip and Reggie) since October and they have been fine until 2 Days ago. While feeding Reggie, who is always excited to eat, swallowed a pellet and then he sank to the bottom and stayed still for a few seconds. The pellet then came out of his mouth and floated back to the top. He went for it again but spit it out soon after. He then swam away and wouldn't eat.

The next day I cleaned out the tank, did a partial water change and moved the tank to a different room in the house. I did not try to feed the turtles yesterday. Today I went to feed them and Chip ate fine, but Reggie stayed in the corner and wouldn't eat. I tried pellets and krill and he wouldn't try either. He has been less active as well.

I'm wondering if the 2 incidents are related or not. Is Reggie not eating because I moved the tank and he's getting used to it? or is he sick?

Did Reggie have problems with these pellets before?

His shell is about 1 and half inches and the water temp stays at 78 degrees F. I tried feeding him again today and still wont eat. I have seen him basking a lot more. He usually doesn't bask in front of us. He would normally jump back in the water when we walk by the tank but he hasn't been recently. I'm hoping its just because of the new location of the tank.

But now I'm worried cause he hasn't eaten in 3 days.

Thanks for your help Steve.

Try some other foods... like tuna, boiled white chicken mean or boiled egg white. You can try the egg white in his tank, the other two are messy and you might not want to do it in the main tank unless you're planning on a water change soon.
