Feeding and Nutrition :: What to feed?

Turtle diets and eating habits discussed here.

I recently adopted an 8 year old RES turtle. I was wondering what are the BEST and most NUTRITIOUS vegetables I can give her. I have read a lot about all the different things everyone feeds their turtle in different postings, but it's hard to actually pick what is the best because some of it contradicts itself. I also want to get some protein in her diet other than her pellets. Feeding her something other than live fish would be preferable since it makes me sad to see the poor fish swimming around for it's life. Also, what would be a good schedule to feed any combination of pellets, protein and vegetables per week? I want to set up a schedule for her. I know there is a lost posted about this but like I said, there is so much information and some of it contradicts itself so I thought i should ask . Thank you so much in advance for all your help! :)

Oh! I was also wondering what can I do to keep her water crystal clear. She already has filter (Rena XP3) but the water gets a little murky.

Thanks Again! :D

You can use red leaf/green leaf every day, and occasionally mix it up. A small bit of boiled white chicken meat or boiled egg white can be offered. There's a feeding list sticky of what people are using that might give you some ideas.
