Feeding and Nutrition :: Curious about current diet

I'm just curious if I'm feeding my YBS enough or if maybe I should up the pellet intake? When I got him/her a month ago we picked up reptomin pellets. However he/she hardly ate them. Within the last 2 weeks I switched to fluker's buffet blend and he/she gobbles them up. I usually feed about 6 pellets and a leaf of assorted lettuce every day. I haven't picked him up and measured him yet but I would say he is between 2.5 - 3" shell length and about 1.5 - 2 years old I'm estimating. I noticed last night that I don't think the 6 pellets would fill up his/her head if hollowed out. But because he/she has no problem eating a whole leaf of lettuce (some are almost twice his/her size) I thought that maybe that is enough food on a daily basis?

Ooooh forgot to add in he/she has eaten 2 rosy minnows in the last month. I got 5 and put them all in the tank to see what he/she would do. 2 of them disappeared over the course of a couple weeks and we have had 3 hanging around for the last few weeks.

I'm not sure how big those pellets are, but it sounds OK. Good measures to know if he's getting enough are the thickness of his seams (between the scutes) and his weight (if you have a food scale).

What would the ideal thickness between the seams be? I'm assuming they would need to be thin?

Yes, it would be thin though I don't have any measurements of what it should be.
