She Is A Fussy Eater - Help

I rescued a turtle that was only getting fed on processed ham.

I have had her a fortnight now and have been spoiling her.

I have collected dandelion leaves for her, I have bought her different types of lettuce, I bought crickets for her, I bought her a turtle mix and all she ate out of it was the shrimps and left the rest.

The only thing she seems to like with a passion is her pellets but I want to give her a varied diet but if she wont try things what can I do?

the good news is - at least she's eating pellets.

Have you seen the jello shots on this forum? It's a recipe that includes pellets, veggies and some other stuff mixed with gelatin and served as cubes. Many have had success introducing veggies or a more well rounded diet to their turtle with the jello shots. viewtopic.php?f=8&t=17486

Also, tuna juice can work wonders. soak some of the lettuce or other veggies in juice from a tuna can and see if your turtle takes it.

If she is healthy and has an appetite, then I would try what VeipaCray suggested. That would offer a balanced diet until you can try the other stuff. I would pick up a veggie clip from a pet store (in the fish section) to use with the dandelions and lettuce.

protein wins our over veggies everyday! like the others have said, keep spoiling her for now. In a month or 2, you can worry about getting the diet corrected to 75% veggies 25% protein, but right now it sounds like she is doing well.
