I have two turtles, one about 9 months and one 3 or 4 months, they are separated [The bigger one, Jeremy, was biting Neil (the baby) he even bit a hole in his arm I treated with neosporin] but I used to feed the bigger one more which resulted in him being very fat. I feed them every other day now, but any suggestions in how to get him to lose weight? He has a lot of water! I can upload pictures of the fatty if you need it!

Just reduce the amount he gets daily and don't give in to the begging. Hope Jeremy makes a full recovery.

"tough love" My girls just got off a "tough love diet" feeding once a week, and it was a couple pices of lettuce and some carrots with calc power. I did that for about 2 months and they seem to have lost the "fat" under the legs. No protein at all. Just veggies, and cut it down to a minimum, they can take it!

Be careful with carrots. They contain a lot of sugar. I'd use them more as a treat than a normal staple.

I don't like to argue or point out mistakes in others, but i have to disagree, baby carrots containt minimal sugar. If you cut up 2 or 3 into strips or just buy them that way. I do not think 3-4grams of sugar is going to cause any issues?
