Changing my turtles diet

So I have decided to change my turtles diet, and i started with dandelion greens, as my previous "improper diet" post led me to.

I am pleased to announce that my wonderful little girl Ivy really sucks them back, took her a few days to figure out how to eat them, because they weren't hard like her pellets, but she loves them now.

My next question is this, aside from red leaf lettuce, carrots and blue berries, can my turtle eat green pepper, cherries or anything similar to those?

Yes I've seen that, but I would like to know if green peppers and cherries are safe for her?

green peppers should be OKAY to feed. although i'd stick with aquatic plants, and the three lettuces (green, red, romaine), etc.
cherries, I've heard its been recommended NOT too feed- or not to feed often. (the turtles digestive tract isn't suitable for sugary things like fruits)

take a look at this too (right click-open tab): http://repticzone.com/forums/Turtles/me ... 20828.html
there's a good link that describes vegetables in the second post.

I would have to drive ages to get aquatic plants around here, our petshop generally fails at everything, the done sell any reptiles or such like things, so they really have the minimal amount of stuff for them. I really appreciate that link also, I am saving it, because we are going to start adding more and more stuff to our turtles diet. Can she have cooked sirloin meat? Or porkchops? And as silly as this might sound, what about, as a very occasional treat chicken hotdog?

No. How about boiled white chicken meat?

You're welcome. Just remember it's a treat and all treats should be used in small, conservative amounts.

There have been a lot of talks concerning how you should handle a sudden change in your turtle's diet and interestingly, it would be great to be able to see how things are going to work on your side.

I mean, they take it in differently and more importantly, based on how their earlier form of diet works for them. Hopefully that would be something good to start with so that things would be going just the way you like it going.
