I have a RES I've had him, sorry her, for almost 2 years now Id say. no issues at all. Until now.I have 3 different pellets and she wont eat any of them. she will just spit them out. She will eat feeder fish and the dried krill that comes with one brand of pellets. but i know she cant just go on that, i plan on going to the store and getting some dark leafed veggies and trying that but she had never had any interest in them before. she likes strawberries though. i just dont know what else to do have any of you had any problems like this? its there something wrong? i have a thermometer the water is right around 78 degrees I have a filter a light and a ramp, her set up is just fine. Her eating not so much. (i named her Lady Theodora Francis Clamshire, originally Sir Theodore Franklin Clamshire before i knew he was a she)

Sounds like she is just holding out, just like when they stop eating veggies so they can get more pellets. Does she get feeder fish/krill everyday?

Yup, you'll need to cut it out of her diet. She'll hate you for a few days but will get over it.

I am facing the same problem with my 3 RES. They simply ignored the pellets (Reptomin) and enjoyed krills and gammarus (Sera). Apart from that, they also kill the guppies which I put in the tank along with them and eat them up. Just left the bones n eyes. They don't fancy veges much either. I have tried lettuce... Now I'm trying spinach. Is this diet healthy for them? It's worrying me coz I do noticed that there are bumps on top of their shell. Huhu.

Were they the same size when you got them? I noticed all 3 were different sizes. They should be a similar size at this point, so I would first suggest feeding them separately. If they have eaten recently, and have a good appetite, just try using the pellets and don't give in to the begging.

@Steve : They were all the same size when I got them. FYI, the littlest one (Unky) is the one with the huge appetite (yet very picky - would NOT eat his pellets at all) and did most of the begging and will hunt and kill the guppies when he's hungry. That's why I couldn't resist. Whilst the biggest (Olive) will eat anything and everything and medium sized (Scar) enjoyes the guppies food, gammarus and krills. All 3 have very different taste buds. huhu

Spinach is not great for them... try using a veggie clip. They are expert beggars, so try not to give in :)

Thanks for the suggestion. I just hope my local pet shop carries the brand. Will go and pay them a visit tomorrow... who knows? they might have it.
