EDIT: After another atempt with the pellets in tuna, he is eating, but I had to soake them for like 3 hours!

My little guy is noramlly a real chow hound -begging and all, but within the last 2 weeks he is refusing green leaf and red leaf lettuce,(he doesn't seem to care for dandelion much either) and takes a bite of the the pellets spits it out, so I bought him an aquatic plant(amazon sword, they didn't have any of the preffered plants that are listed on the site) however, he ate it, mostly the bulb of the plant he liked, I tried soaking the pellets in tuna water, he took a bite and didn't seem interested, the temps are good, and their doesn't seem to be any other abnormal behavior, the only thing that has changed in his environment is the filter, previous filter was a doing a HORRIBLE job, and the new one seems to be worse, I clean his tank regularly and use poland sping water.(BUT I DIDNT REMOVE ALL WATER CAUSE OF THE CYCLING AND THE FILTER) Any Idea what could be causing this sudden change in appetite or pickyness about food? Thanks!

- some other basic info- It's a male turtle, I have had him for one year this month, I adopted him for a crappy situation, (tupperware bowl, no lights, only sticks for food) he had a huge issue with algae shell when I first got him, but that is all better, his eye was bulging and that has cleared up as well. (the best his prior "owner" could give me about his age was approx 10-15 years) he has grown a bit, his nails grew, and he is active, basks etc...I dont know what else to do short of taking him to a herp vet, but it doesn't seem to serious, YET, and I would rather not stress him with that unless it is absolutly necessary. Suggestions please! THANKS ALL!!

Please help, I love my little turtle and want the best for him! :D

Hi Daisy,

How big is your turtle? What size tank do you have? How much water is in there? Does he have a basking area with a UVB and a heat bulb? What type of filtration are you using and what size tank is it rated for? Do you have a heater in the tank and what is the water temps? Sorry for all the questions but we need to know what his habitat is like to get to the bottom of the problem.

I'd also try a different type of pellet and a veggie clip when they lose a bit interest in their veggies.
