So when we first got him, we got him 2 feeder goldfish (didn't know at the time they weren't too nutritious) and he only ate one, within the first night. And we've had the other one since then. Lately, we got 4 rosie red minnows, and again he only ate one, that night, and the other 3 are unscathed. I find this very funny, it's almost as if he eats one to try it, and leaves the rest alone. lol. Just yesterday we had a rainy day, so I went out and got a huge worm crawling on the driveway. I mean, this thing is as thick as Chang's head. I rinsed it off, and threw it in the tank. All the fish came up and poked at it (while Chang swam away from it as if he was scared). So I went downstairs to do something, come back up, and half the worm is sticking out of his mouth! He completely devoured the thing. So hopefully he has a thing for insects. Chang is only 2" long, and I'm guessing about 2-3 months old. His normal diet consists of different pellets on different days. One day I use the reptomin red krill pellets, some days the baby pellets, and some days the pellets with growing formula. I want to get him acclimated to fruits and veggies early on, but he refuses to touch them. I guess I'll just wait for a different day.

Live prey can be very enticing. If you want to try plants and veggies, try some live anacharis in the tank.

Ive tried live hornwort but all it did was make a huge mess in the tank and he didnt do anything but sleep in it. I'll have to try anacharis. Where would i get some, I'm almost certain the local petsmart doesnt have any.

It's a pretty common aquatic plant, most pet stores will carry it unless it's illegal in your state. You might have to check ebay if you want to buy a bunch or a variety of plants.

I saw anacharis at petsmart but i skimped out on it, picked up 7 more minnow, and 3 more algae eaters. One of the fish tanks had a TON of duckweed floating on top so I asked to have some and she gave me a lot of it for free! Hopefully Chang finds the duckweed enticing.
