My turt was kinda shy at first to eat. Sometimes they don't like it when you watch. Make sure to switch up his diet though, glad that he/she's eating. :)

Hey guys i have a bit of a problem with my 2 RES babies. They dont want to eat and one is hiding all the time and doesnt want to bask at all.I got them 3 days ago.I have a heater a filter and a basking light (not UVA/UVB).The temperature is always 27 C (80 F).I try to feed them dried gammarus and sera brand pellets.I think that the problematic turtle is scared out of its mind :( .The bigger turtle is 3.5 centimeters (shell lenght) and the smaller (problematic one) is 3.2 cm. Oh and about the UVA/UVB lighting is the Exo Terra Sun glo lamp (150/75w) good? Im thinking of buying it.I hope you give me some advise

Have you tried tuna or live prey? Here are some ideas: http://www.redearslider.com/entice_eating.html

The Sun Glo does not appear to give off UVB.

A compact fluorescent bulb like the Reptiglo 5.0 or Reptisun 5.0 would be good. Try to buy it online as local store prices are usually much higher. Remember to read it's directions and not to have it too close to your RES. It will also need a burn-in period.
