Breeding white clouds

I'm attempting to breed white clouds. From what I hear, it's extremely easy which is good, considering I have NO IDEA what I'm doing. I bought 25 (cost me 9 bucks) and stuck them in a 10 gallon tank (cost me 11.99), and threw in one of the fake plants from my turtle tank.

I don't know how big they need to be in order to breed, right now they're no bigger than 1/2 inch, and that's streaching it. Anyone know when they'll breed, and if the fake plant is sufficient for them to lay eggs in? I know the parents have a tendency of eating the eggs, but they shouldn't if they're well fed. I'm really flying blind here, so any suggestions, hints or tips would be great. thanks!

I think your best bet is to Google it. See what comes up when you google "white cloud minnow care sheet" or "white cloud minnow breeding"

There's a fake plant that is called something like breeding grass or something if I can remember correctly, that you can put in a tank for guppies and such. It's for the fry to hide in, but I'm not sure about a plant for them to lay their eggs on. I would think having a couple different plants in there would be a good idea. :)

I did a bit of googling and one of the things it suggested was java grass, was that what you were thinking of sonyj?

walmart has little squares of breeding grass. It is plastic like the fake aquarium plants. Just a thought if you don't want to mess with real plants. I've seen them other places too.

I've never heard of Java grass, Carol. I was just thinking about the little square things like Missibsu said for the fry. And also, some leafy type plants for the eggs. Not sure if this makes sense, but I've read on other species that they like to lay their eggs on the underside of leafy plants in the water. (I'm so technical, huh? ;) )

Let us know how they do Brad. :)

Heck I have no clue what java grass is either  I just read it while looking up info on breeding the white clouds.. :) I know what you mean about those little plastic squares of breeding grass though :)

My cichilds lay their eggs inside caves much easier than having to worry about the proper plants and the fry being eaten. But then I'm not raising them as turtle food :)
