Feeding and Nutrition :: Feeding

Good day

I've been reading through what I should feed, and how I should feed, and all that good stuff. But Im finding some stuff a bit cluttered, although I have lots of time to read.
Anyways, Ive got two RES, both around 2" give or take half inch. Havent measured for a while. Not sure on the age though. Since I've had them, December, Ive been feeding them Zoo Med pellets. Ive tried other things like veggies and greens, but they wont eat anything. Also, in the beginning, they would attack a few fish, but they leave them alone now. (which is great, because it livens up the tank)
I know I have to try and change up their feeding routines, but what should I do? Withen a month, I hope to move them over to a 180 gallon tank, so I want them to eat better before I move them. Im looking into doing jello shots, but will I need to feed them anything else? And how often should I feed them?

Sorry for the questions, I have been constantly learning, and I want to make sure everything goes properly.

Okay. What are you feeding them now? Just the pellets? All you really need is the pellets (the right amount, not too much). And some good greens, like red leaf or green leaf lettuce. I don't think you need to go through the trouble of jello shots unless you're having a problem with them eating. Although it definately won't hurt. You can feed the amount of pellets that would fit in their head if it were empty maybe everyday. You can start doing every other day when they get older, maybe another inch or so longer. You can offer some lettuce every day. An adult should have more greens than pellets in his diet.

Thanks for the information. In the new 180gal tank, I think im gonna plant some anacharis, to help cycle the tank, and I heard its good for turtles. So hopefully they can be in the new tank within a month. Is there anything else I should do? Or is pellets and greens enough? Ive read some stuff about calcium, and shell hardness and all that good stuff. Is there anything special I should be doing for that?

Offer the greens everyday. You can buy some cuttle bone from the bird section of the pet store and let them munch on. It's a great source for calcium.
