Feeding and Nutrition :: Uneaten guppies

Turtle diets and eating habits discussed here.

I bought 10 guppies two months ago, they have already started breeding, so now I also have babies. I upgraded my RES tank to a bigger one (70litres) and I decided to put both turtles and guppies in the same tank.

From what I have read on here, the turtles should have eaten the guppies by now, or at least chased them, or shown interest in them. But no, they decided to completely ignore them.

I haven't got any food left for the guppies right now, will they be all right if I don't feed them for about a week?

I also have got a quite large ancistrus in the new tank, about twice the turtles' size. Will he be all right with the turtles? They don't chase him, they just nipped one of his fins when they first saw him, but now they leave him alone.

Turtles usually show interest in live prey, but not all do. Since guppies are pretty small and fast, it might give your RES a harder time catching them.

The guppies will probably scavenge any leftover turtle pellets. And any fish will be a potential snack, big or small. As far as tanks go, 70 litres is not very large for the amount of critters you have in there.
