my turtles never eat their pellets i think i may have seen them 1 time since ive had them, about a month but they eat their ghost shrimp and just today i bought some feeder guppys and they go for them too, so idk what to do they havn't always had the shrimp or guppys so idk why they wont, help me please?

i would stop offering shrimp and guppies. or at least offer less of them. and try lettuce and other foods

they have anacharis and they eat that sometimes

Pellets contain most of the nutrients that they would get from a variety of stuff they would eat in the wild. The diet you have them on is missing alot of key nutrients and mineral to a healthy turtle. You should try and cut them cold turkey and get them to eat the pellets and variety of vegies. They may not eat for a week but eventaully they will get hungry and go for the other stuff you offer them.

What brand of pellets are you feeding? You might just need to try another brand. I heard a lot of good things of Omega one turtle pellets, petsmart doesnt sale it but I find that locally own reptile stores in my area carry it. I personally use a mixture of reptomin and turtle bites. Personally my turtles never liked the zoo med brand aquatic turtle food, which was weird since they would eat anything in site.

maybe you can try dipping the lettuce in tuna water? thats what i did with my turtles they didnt eat for like 4 days after i got them, now i can feed them by hand.

Be sure to always leave at least one pellet in the tank when you go away, and then when you come back, is it still there? Most pellets float, and Brixie doesn't seem to have a problem eating them, but I have only fed her them and tiny carrots so meh. Good luck though.

Pellets also break down quickly, so if you do not see them, it does not mean it was eaten. I also say go cold turkey. It's tougher for you than it is for them
