Not eating veggies

I've used the jello shots (I use green, red and romaine lettuce with 2-3 reptomin sprinkled on top) and he ate them until recently (about a month ago...). He wouldn't eat floating pieces of lettuce. Now he won't touch them at all. I tried "tough love" with him and wouldn't feed him anything but the jello shots, but they just got super mushy after awhile and exploded in the tank making it super dirty.

I am now dipping pieces of lettuce into tuna juice and clipping them with a veggie clip. He is still not showing interest. He rips apart the lettuce (probably because of the tuna juice) but doesn't actually eat any parts... I have tried red, green and romaine with him.

I see other people are having this problem and that it may be due to the winter months. But he's not eating any veggies at all! Just carrots when I try. Is it safe for him to go all winter without veggies? What can I feed him daily so that he can get his veggies? (No water plant suggestions please, we don't have any where I live)

I would continue with the veggie clip method (without using tuna water). If he's just being picky, there's not much more you can do.

Ok, I will continue keeping lettuce up and just ignore his super cute begging.

Thanks!

Oh, is it okay for me to feed him carrots regularly? At least I can be sure he's getting some veggies with those..

Do you offer him any pellets? As for carrots, I give it to my RES about 3 or 4 times a week.

Of course he would live off them if I let him. |:
