How high is your temperture of your tank? It should be around 70-80 degrees F. Anything lower and your turtle will become lethargic and will evidently refuse to eat.

But...

If it's a hatchling RES, it may take a couple of weeks before it eats anything. Just keep trying! :D Then move on to more healthy foods.

How about reading some of the information here:

http://www.redearslider.com/index_nutrition_2.html

Have you tried any/all of that? Reading will solve most of your problems and posting questions and waiting for answers can take time away from giving your turtle the proper care it needs.

I've asked a number of times about your setup and the water/basking temperatures, you never have answered. If the water temp is too low a turtle won't eat. If you answer questions when asked we'll be able help you better.

so 2 degrees will make that much of a difference? I have a 100 watt zoo med daylight amd it is about 8 inches away from the basking area i dont know the temp of the basking area but i assume it is around what it needs to be

The basking area should be as Elliott said about 10 degrees higher than the water temp... What is the water temp? That affects their eating more than the basking temp.

Have you tried reading the information here? It's only a page long and it's been formatted so you can print it out as well.
