I saw some posts saying to feed RES canned tuna and boiled chicken.
Is there a certain type/brand of tuna and chicken i should use for him?
Also how many times do i feed it to him and how much?
Do i feed it to him with anything else?

I believe canned tuna or boiled chicken meat is only used to entice eating. They're
not for regular consumption. Once the turtle eats, try to switch to pellets or
vegetables as soon as possible.

One thing to note, use canned tuna soaked in water, not oil.

You can also soak the pellets in canned tuna water, to make them more smelly
for the turtle to be enticed.

You can give a bit of either, as long as the amount is small and it's done infrequently. (Consider it a treat. ) If you do give some, don't feed pellets (offering a veggie is fine).

I'd just like to reiterate using products that are only canned in water, and not any kind of oil. It will say so on the can label. I feed water canned salmon and tuna to my turtles (and fish) from time to time and they really love it. I like to pick the spines out and offer them for their calcium content.

I do the same with the canned salmon I buy, but I pick out the substance in between the vertabrae.

How many times can i feed him the canned salmon and any other sea food products?

The main site has all that info and more. I wouldn't offer any other kind of human seafood, though. I give my turtle fish maybe once a month or less, or if I do it more than once a month I won't do it for a while afterwards.

Ooops. Canned tuna soaked in water is a staple of George's diet. She loves it. Loves it mixed with carrots and of course, pellets. And lettuce.

And she's growing rapidly. Not pyramiding, I don't think, but I'm keeping a close eye as well as trying to find alternatives, get her down to tuna maybe 3 days a week instead of 7...

I don't know about the shrimp, it should be OK. But any of the canned stuff should be strictly limited, to maybe a couple times a month.

I've cut her way back on it, to merely a pinch, but still...

From the can is fine, but just small amounts. What about just soaking the pellets in tuna water?

She has a small amount each day. A pinch. I may skip a day or two shortly. She's ignoring her lettuce. She's fine with the pellets plain, but that's how I got her started on them: stank them up with tuna
