Feeding and Nutrition :: Overfeeding? Help!

Turtle diets and eating habits discussed here.

So my boyfriend and I have 2 10 month old (or so) RES and we're wondering if we are overfeeding them.

They get fed 14 (7 for each) Nutrafin Max pellets 2 times a day, and a couple small chunks of cuttlebone.

We know to go by their head size to feed the amount of pellets, but it's hard to judge. So I'll show you some pictures of them and see what you guys think.

I apologize for the pictures being really big. It was my first time using photobucket.

Any feedback and help is welcomed!!!

I feed them 7 each, twice a day.

I was thinking about cutting them back before I posted on the website, but now I will cut them back.

Is feeding them once a day, every other day alright? I'm afraid since they've been fed twice a day for so long, that cutting them to being fed once every other day would be harmful.

I'm thinking 2 each in the morning and 2 at night alright. They would only get 4 a day (each) still. Is that alright?

I disagree, it says in the main site that juvies should get fed once a day and adults every 2-3 days (sorry for misprint), I would start dieting them a little, eventhough theyre coldblooded and cant lose weight (they can get bigger and stay the same weight)3 is normal, you should probly feed 2.

I feed 10-14 pellets every other day, because that's about the size of his head.

I got some red leaf lettuce today. Hopefully that will work. I'm gonna rub some pellets on it, so it will make it smell like pellets to entice hem to eat.

I have another question. Since they aren't baby turtles anymore, can I tell now which one is a guy and which one is a girl? Or are they still too young at 10 or so months old to tell?
