Feeding and Nutrition :: Keeping lettuce fresh

Turtle diets and eating habits discussed here.

I feed my two RES lettuce every other day. I have come across a problem with keeping the lettuce fresh though. By the end of the week, it gets soggy and gross. If I wait a few more days, it will start to turn brown and rot.
Any tips on how to keep my RES veggies fresh for a longer time peroid?

They sell "veggie bags" that keep fruits and vegetables fresh for an extended period of time. Look for them in your supermarket.

I use veggie bags, it dosn't seem to help as much. Should I take the lettuce out of its origional bag and place it in the veggie bag? I just place the lettuce, along with its bad into the veggie bag. Im so sick of wasting vegetables because they go bad.

Look into getting some tupperware (the real brand name ones). I purchased some veggie storage containers and they keep it all fresh for a really really long time.

Foil also works pretty well.
