Is there much difference between grasshoppper and a cricket for food?

I'm pretty sure it's about the same thing. I know that there are chinese companies that sell dried grasshoppers for reptile food. I think crickets are easier to find around here is why you rarely here of people using grasshoppers for food. Not many places are breeding and selling them since you can catch them in your yard.

Depending on the size, I think a grasshopper would have a bigger exoskeleton and be tougher to eat and digest. I've never tried grasshoppers, but did buy crickets in a can for my RES. He didn't like the regular-size ones (which I had to break up for him), but was willing to eat the mini-size, which are quite small and soft.

oh. I saw a exo terra cricket at my LFS. The cricket cost $4 more than the exo terra grasshopper so i got the grasshopper. Why the big difference?
