Frankie's always been good with her green veggies, but turns her nose up at anything yellow, orange or red. I've been "sneaking" her lots of sweet potato in the jello shots, but she's never even touched it on its own, though I keep trying her on it. Well, last night I cut a cross section of the potato about 2-3mm thick cooked it a bit, and this morning the whole thing was gone! I'm so happy! She's still got those stubborn retained scutes (she's lost only 4 so far), so any vitamin E that I can get in her is great.

In the last month or so she's become much more friendly too, comes over and looks up at me like Ralph always does. She used to never take any food from my hand, but I started with giving her little dried shrimp, and now she'll take pellets too (though her aim is terrible!).

It's been just short of 2 years since I got her. So it would seem RES are slow to change their habits, but with persistence it can be done! :D

nice work, momma!

i luckily (knocks of wood) haven't had much trouble with any sorts of veggies with my turtle, she is eager to eat anything.
