Feeding and Nutrition :: Dandelion Leafs

Turtle diets and eating habits discussed here.

Hello everyone!

I've been a long member of Turtle Talk, but forgot my account and password due to inactivity.

I have a question: The site says I can feed my turtles dandelion leafs, are these the dandelion leafs that I see growing as weed in my front yard? Can I feed those to my turtles (after washing thoroughly)?

Thanks for feedback.

If you are sure the dandelions in your yard are pesticide free (and your neighbours' yards are pesticide free), then yes, you can feed those to your turtles.

Yes, those are dandelion leaves. I get mine the same way. So much easier and cheaper than buying them from the store, and you can get just a few as opposed to a large bag at the grocery store.

Btw I like the name Stinky. I wonder how he got it :).
