Hi everyone, I am back again.... my new baby Roxie seems to be adjusting to everything that is new to her, EXCEPT... I can't seem to get her to eat her greens. I read the list and tried several things. She is really only liking goldfish and squash right now. Thinking about making the jello shots with some tuna and stuff, good idea or do I need to keep holding out for her to eat them? I also tried to feed her outside of the tank, but she was just more interested in trying to figure out how to get out than what food was being offered. I'm just tryin to do the very best that I can for her, advice or help would be appreciated....
Thanks

Stace,
If your baby is still a hatchling, you don't really need to worry about feeding
greens yet. Your main concern right now should be feeding pellets daily as much
as it would fit in the head. After reaching a year old, then you want to switch the
diet to pellets every other day and greens daily.
It's ok to introduce greens to the diet now, but don't sweat on it. Good luck!

Mine love leaf lettuce. I give them a piece everyday. Just keep offering a fresh piece every day. It should be introduced as early as possible.

I have three sliders, one loves his lettuce, another just munches on it and the third won't touch it...I think it might be based on age and maturity. We got them all at the same time but the one who eats his lettuce is growing faster than the other two... I think it's just an individuality thing.
Thank You

Dont forget to offer greens every one in a while too.
I learned today, that my turtle is more interested in greens that live fish...
He was litterally ATTACKING the leaf of red-leaf lettuce. I havent seen him eat like this since he caught his last rosie red!
I think that eventually, most turtles will accept veggies, as long as you keep trying.

yes, or you can use a veggie clip.

You can try that. Some turtles prefer the veggies clipped on the side of the tank
using a veggie clip, available in pet stores.

I slice the veggies up so it's easier for them to eat.
