In the spring/summer, if you have a lawn that isn't treated with pesticides/herbicides, you can pick the leaves from the lawn (assuming it has dandelions on it).

I've noticed that fewer places seem to be selling them, perhaps it's because of the season. However, I'm still able to find them in the produce sections of larger supermarkets and in produce sections of health food stores and some stores that sell ethnic foods.

Health food stores or organic markets are definitely the best. Sometimes, though, even those places don't have them.

Also, be careful, because what some stores call "italian dandelion" is actually chicory. And that's not good for your little one. When in doubt, ask a manager.

Seems to me it would be easy to grow your own dandelion in a pot. I mean, it's hard enough to keep the buggers from growing in places where you don't want them, so it HAS to be easy to grow them where you DO want them!

Come to think of it...I think I'll do that next year!

That sounds like a good idea. I think I shall buy some seeds the next time I am at the farmers' market. I love growing plants anyway!

My grocery store sells packages of salad greens called "Spring Mix" - they have lots of dandelion greens in them. I just pick out the spinach, and she loves it!
