i dont know much about turtles so i dont know if this is normal or not. my turtle ate 13 guppies in about an hour or 2

thats allot of fish. just try putting a few in at a time. if your turtle dosent know how much to eat. if you want to but allot of fish at one time so you don't have to go to the pet shop all the time to get fish they actually do ok in those critter keepers and u just take them out when u need them.

Your turtle may end up with a bit of a tummy ache, so watch out, but they might throw up sometime soon ... Turtles are terrible at budgeting their food, as long as it's available, they could eat them right away or over time. I fed my turtle 3 fish a few months ago and two were gone by the next morning, the third remained for about 3 weeks. So I bought him 3 again, expecting a similar eating schedule. Nope, he ate all three of them within 48 hours.

The first time I gave Harvey fish, I went and asked for 15. The lady gave me 20 so I put them all in. He ate probably 10 within the first 15 minutes, then 5 overnight and the last couple the next day. He left 1 for months and that eventually went.

I just give him a couple at a time now. He's a pig.

How big is your RES?

Mine has eaten 3 large goldfish in an hour but she's a bigun.

heres a picture of it. i think its a girl because the other day there was 1 egg that was all ripped up in the tank but it never laid another egg after that. thanks for the fast responses and all the help by the way

Oh boy, where to start on that set-up...

1)Where is the basking area? Unless my eyes are playing tricks on me, I don't see one.
2)Get rid of that gravel, your turtle could smallow it.
3)That tank looks way too small - You need 10g per inch of turtle.

im lookin for a bigger tank as i said in another thread. as far as the basking part i put him outside everyday for 2-3 hours

That's good you are looking for a bigger tank. Try looking on Craigslist, you can find some good deals on there. It's good you take your turtle outside everyday but you should still get a basking area.

im goin to wait till my wife gets home so we can order a tank off glasscages.com. they have some really nice 1s there with built in basking spots. il check craigslist now, i dont know how i didnt think of that. i usually check there and ebay 1st but it just slipped my mind

Also, something you said is upsetting. If you found an egg, that means that your turtle may be holding them inside her. If she doesn't have the chance to lay them (which she may have done during an outside trip), they will burst inside her, causing a fatal infection. Turtles will lay in the water as a LAST RESORT. Take her out and feel between her back legs and tail. If there are eggs there, it will feel like large grapes in there. If there are eggs, you need to help her find a good nesting spot outside. The best nesting spots contain soft soil so they can dig into it and often, they like places against walls or bushes. Once she lays the eggs, it's best to dispose of them rather than leave them there as they will start to smell.
