Taser is my 2 inch RES and is a major sweetie. I just had to share one of Taser's dinner time habits...

I feed Taser the reptomin baby pellets. After I place them in the water I move my hand along the outside of the glass and Taser will follow it regardless of whether I'm leading him/her to food. It all started because I'd show Taze where the food was with my hand and now he/she will just follow my hand and doesn't try to bite it. I guess this will come in handy later on when Taze is bigger and taking field trips outside. I'll have to get a video of it...

I try that with my turtle, he sometimes gets too excited at feeding time and ends up stuck on the other side of the tank away from his food. So I found that he recognizes the food containers (and not my hand so much), then I take the food container and hold it up to the tank, which usually pacifies him, and then he follows the food container to his food in the water. This is esp. funny since he rarely sees the food container, yet still recognizes it as the food container.

lol our littlest one mikey does this as well...or well sometimes i'll tease him as well and have the pellet outside the tank where he can see it and he'll bite the glass trying to get the food...

but even if its not feeding time he follows my finger anyways! lol I love the lil guy.

This sounds like a fun thing to do. I'll have to try it when they get more used to me.

Spike gets all excited too when we approach his tank to feed him. He calms down after a couple of seconds and then rushes onto his turtle dock to get some food and start eating.

I don't know if the excitement is because he sees something big approaching his tank or because he knows it is feeding time. Later in the day, approaching the tank doesn't always seem to get him excited.
