Turtle diets and eating habits discussed here.

Hi, my 4yr old res stopped eating 3 days ago and is acting very lathargic. He keeps his paws inside his shell and shows no interest of eating. Usually he sticks his head out of the water and flaps his paws when he knows I'm going to feed him. The water temperature is 28C so I don't think he's trying to hibernate. I hope he's not sick....any ideas? Thank you.

does he have any other symptoms? if he's lethargic he could be sick with something, maybe a respiratory infection. did you look at the Health page? i would check on there. but i definitely think a trip to the vet is in order. i hope ur turt feels better :)

I agree, the lethargy spells trouble. Sounds like a trip to the vet is in order!

I could just be paranoid, but I noticed that it looks a bit puffy between his neck and his front paws.
