This is natural instinct. It isn't something you can, or should correct. Just put her in a bucket with some water and food when you have to do some maintenance in the tank.

do you usually feed her by hand? If so, she is probably confused and thinks you are going to feed her and cant figure out where the food is.

Thanks for the advice. I'm moving to my dads house soon so i shouldn't have as much of a problem because i'm going to feed them in a seperate tank. so when their eating i can fix up the plants. My tank has no gravel only smooth rocks and and small stones so its hard to keep the plants down. Any advice for that?

For fake plants either get ones with suction cups or get some soft stones and drill a hole into them large enough to fit the plant stalk and silicone it in there.

As for biting wait til she gets to be around 10-12 inches in size. It won't be annoying anymore. It will be painful. You can trust me on that one.

I tried finding suction cup plants, but couldn't. I have this idea that I could get aquarium silicone and glue a suction cup to the bottom of the plant. Does anyone think that that will work?

its worth a try. There are suction cups with holles in them to stick stuff into. Buy some normal fake plants pull them out of their base that goes under the gravel and glue them in the suction cups.

I use silicone to glue rocks into the plastic bases of my fake plants. It lets Turtley move them around as he pleases, but keeps them from floating to the surface.

I found fake plants in the reptile section, not usually the aquarium section. Just a thought though, if you have the choice, buy plastic plants not silk ones. :)
