Hey guys.

How long should my RES be after a year if I have fed them according to the proper guidelines?

Thanks.

There are no definite age-size requirements. After a year (of you having hatched the egg yourself), most turtles are approximately 4". However, if you purchased him from a dealer, you won't know his actual size. If you are sure he's a year old, between 3-5" is a safe range.

Can you give more details about the conditions? How did you acquire him? What is his tank like? What do you feed him?

Um...10 gallon tank (I'm getting a bigger one soon), three turtles, 7 pellets every day with filter and Zoomed dock. Don't reallly give them any veggies or anything. I also give them cuttlebone to chew on.

Well, most animals will show stunted growth when their environment isn't optimal. Three turtles in a ten gallon tank, I'd imagine that their growth is badly stunted. Once you get them into a new environment, they may spurt up quickly or just grow slowly over time. How big are they currently? Do they have a UVB bulb and basking bulb? You should get them eating veggies as soon as possible before they flat out refuse.

Surprisingly, their SCL is around 3.5 inches. I just changed them to a bigger tank today. Yes, they have a UVB and basking bulb. Thanks for the advice.
