I bought some anacris(sp?) today at petsmart to feed Sylar. I wanted to see how much he liked it before I went nuts trying to grow it. It came in bunches with no roots. Is this normal...will it root itself when planted...or should i find a different place to buy and get it with roots???

Yes it is normal. Anacharis will root itself when planted in gravel quite quickly. It is a very easy plant to grow that most turtles love to eat. It grows very well in natural sunlight through a window, or with the use of florescent lighting.
