Oh yes. Blueberries are low in sugar compared to other fruit and nuitritious. They contain vitamin E which helps a turtle shed scutes when he/she needs to.

YES, very good for turtles because they contain a lot of antioxidants!!!

They are my Sheba's FAVORITE food (mine too so we share them!).

How many blueberries do you give? Do you just throw them in the tank?

I usually drop in about 4 whole fresh ones at a time. They sink. :D

Throw 'em in and let the turtle find them. Mine tends to eat the insides out and leave the skin behind.

I only give Sheba 1 or 2 blue berries at a time because I don't want her to gain weight (she is already pretty large). I show them to her thru the glass first & she goes crazy when she sees them! Then I put them on her basking dock & she bites them off the dock.

How often should I give blueberries? Are they only good in moderation? Or should I feed them quite often? I just picked up some blueberries and put 4 in the tank for the first time about an hour ago when I fed Wilson. I just checked and he had the last piece hanging out of his mouth. He must love them!!!

Blueberries should only be fed maybe once every 2 weeks because of the sugar content. :)
