Do you cut them up into little bite-sized pieces and let them float around or attach a whole leaf to a suction cup clamp? What about carrots or fruits? I've seen them both ways through other peoples' photos.

Me: Usually a palm size piece of lettuce and I just throw it in there. Stuff like carrots, zucchini, squash I shred with a peeler. They don't often get fruit, but strawberries I slice in pretty thin slices.

I used to put veggies in a clip, but now that my turtle's more into eating them i just throw them in there. Lettuce, i put in a whole leaf, other veggies i make strips with a vegetable peeler. When i give sweet potato i steam a small chunk for a few minutes and just drop it in when it cools off.

I lightly steam "harder" foods that I'm not going to make thin peels of (carrots, for example)---pumpkin, squash, yams, etc.---then cut them into small cubes (size depends on the turtle's head size) to make them easier to eat. "Softer" foods (grapes, tomatoes, etc.) are just cut into small pieces. (I tend to avoid the mushy insides and give parts that are nearer to the skin.) Leafy greens are just put into the water for them to nibble at.

I just throw lettuce in and if I feed tomatoe it is a small slice of a cherry tomato. I put in whole baby carrots, rexi seems to have no problems shedding them her self.
