someone said that I can feed my red ear slider cod liver oil, but how can I. If I put it in the water she will pick at it until the oil leaks out in the water, that will make the water greasy and so forth ????

I have never heard of people feeding cod liver oil, but I have heard of people putting it on there eyes to help eye problems.

Why do you want to? I would say feed it to them in a different tank, maybe coat the pellets in it.

If you feel that you want to break open a capsule and pour it over their pellets occansionally you can but you do not have to.

I wouldn't make it a regular thing. It's useful to dab some on their eyes or even put some on some pellets occasionally to treat eye irritation or vitamin A deficiency. Cod liver oil is very high in vitamin A. Too much vitamin A is toxic, however, so you really don't want to overdo it. Also too much oil will make a turtle fat!

Rather than giving cod liver oil, offer your turtle foods high in beta carotene (pumpkin, carrots, squash, red peppers, dandelions, for example). Your turtle will convert the beta carotene to Vitamin A as needed, and there won't be any worries over too much Vit A. Vitamin A deficiencies aren't that common in turtles that are fed a balanced diet.
