Can you give CANNED veggies & fruits or should they ONLY be fresh? Thanks to anyone who answers...

I would say that you could if you were really really sure that the fruit wasn't sugar-loaded. If you found a really high quality fruit that didn't taste like syrup, maybe. Otherwise, I'd say fresh, or probably frozen (once thawed), best if you froze it yourself so there weren't any preservatives. Just my opinion though.

Fresh is best. However, if you want to give your turt an occasional canned string bean that's ok. Usually, though, canned veggies contain not only sugar but other things like lots and lots of salt that's best to stay away from. I'd stay away from canned fruit altogether - usually contains lots of sugar.
