How do you put the fish in? What is the setup like? Are you feeding the fish?

i just gently let the fish swim into the turtles tank from the bag. I have a 20 gallon tank with a turtle the size of a fifty cent peice and the fish dies in a few hours.

Do you put the bag in the water and let the temperatures regulate? Or do you just open the bag when you bring it home and toss the fish in?
SI the tank dirty? and the fish bodies, do they have any signs of illness?

fish carry diseases. yummy. things like fungus parasites and lethargic behavior are good to look for.
maybe ur water has something in it that the fish cant tolerate, like a high ph or something.

try leaving the bag in the tank for 30 min. after that, open the bag and put some of the tank water in. wait about 15 min and then put your fish in.

When transferring minnows to the tank, I don't put any of the fish store water in, it's one way to reduce some of the chance of my turtle getting ill from parasites or some other disease the fish may have.
The fact that the fish die so quickly makes me think something's wrong with your tank water.... have you tested it for ph and nitrates? How large is your filter? And what is the water temp?

I agree with megcornell. Plus I dont think that it has any thing to do with temp shock. I just put mine in without the 10-30 regulation wait. The live forever... or until they get eaten.

Where are you getting your fish from? Try going to a new store and see if they still die. Do you feed them?
