Well Roka's finally reached 3 inches and I'm thinking it
s time to cut back on the munching a bit. She's growing really fast!

She grew nearly an inch in the past two months!

So I'm going to feed her lots of veggies every other day and her pellets twice a week.

Do you think that's ok or still a little bit too early. She still has her baby scutes to shed.

I don't want him growing too fast.

Er....So is it too early to be only feeding him protein foods (pellets, food) only twice a week?

Is it a good decision or will Roka be malnourished?

I think limiting his food that much would be a bit severe. Where it comes to green leafy vegetables, it's really ok - good even - for him to have them daily. You don't want to feed him sweet potatoes or bananas every day of course but the greens are good.

What has Roca been getting in the way of between-meal snacks? Where our dog is concerned, for example, that's where the weight problem comes from, not the regular dog food.

I think you can feed him every other day - just don't feed him too much at a time. You know the rule of thumb - a headful of pellets every day for the little ones and a headfull every other day for adults. Roca's still pretty small at three inches and he's under a year old, so you don't want to limit him too much. He's got a lot of growing to do.

You probably should cut back some because an inch in two months is pretty fast growth but don't starve the little guy!
