I did some searching for the answer to this question but I can't seem to find anything. I have a bag of frozen shrimp in my freezer and I'm wondering if it is okay to thaw out a piece and feed it to Crush my 2 year old RES? I've been feeding him pellets every other day and romaine lettuce on the days in between. Will this piece of shrimp spoil him from any other food?

I'd say as a very rare treat, it should be okay as long as you thaw it out. He will only fixate on it if that is all you feed him, but it sounds like you know better. However if romaine lettuce is all the veggies you are feeding him, i'd mix it up with some other veggies too :)

If you thaw it out and feed it to him at room temp, as a rare treat it should be fine (I'd cut a few smaller pieces off of one shrimp and give him that). If you feed a variety of foods, he won't get spoiled. :)

If you want to see a happy turtle, give him some of that thawed out shrimp, once in a great while.

I thaw frozen shrimp in very warm tap water. Shrimp are great as a treat once in a while & thaw out very fast in water!
