Vegetables?

Is it possible to feed raw spinach,cucumber or bok choy?

As you can see, spinach and bok choi are not recommended. Cucumbers are pretty free of nutrition so I would not recommend them either.

Something not on the list that my RESs love is radicchio. I've seen it recommended elsewhere. I throw some in once in awhile with some green leaf, red leaf, romaine etc.. for greater variety and they always go for the radicchio first.

My turts get some occasionally as well. There's often pieces of it in bags of Spring Mix.

My turts like radicchio as well. More than green lettuce or romaine. Maybe it has to do with the color.

lol How can you tell if they prefer radicchio over red leaf lettuce? do they splash more eagerly?

The preference of veggie depends on the turtle, I think. It's the red color in the red leaf and radicchio that many turtles are attracted to.

Mine splash as soon as they realize they are about to get fed. I can usually tell their preferences by what they eat first if I put a variety of things in the tank. I try to give as much variety as possible, not just what they like best.
