This used to work for me but now he hasn't been eating it for some reason. :(
He love it before then i made a batch that he just doesn't like at all. The lettuce was older and I picked out the bad parts, but I also added cuttlebone into it and I guess he didn't like it.

Now I'm trying 2 cups pureed romaine lettuce & 2 cups boiled water to two packets of knox. I'm hoping he might eat these. Any ideas how I can change it to might interest him? I feed him with it every day so I can't use the tuna/blueberry/"treat" items. He won't eat leafs of lettuce so this is my only way to get him to eat his veggies... unless there are other suggestions?

Try adding more veggies, like carrots, green or red leaf lettuce...or maybe add pellets.
Have you tried aquatic plants? My turtles were hesitant at first with veggies but they've never turned down aquatic plants.
Duckweed and anacharis are pretty easy to find, and cheap.
Maybe consider just a bit of tuna water added to the mix to entice him to eat it. Shouldn't be too bad to feed every day since its just the water, and then when he starts liking the jello shots again you can eliminate the tuna water.

We made a batch recently but used turnip greens since the grocery store was out of kale.
Bowser loves them, but they break up so easily and become a big mess. :(

i used green leaf lettuce instead of kale.. the original recipe calls for kale, is there a nutritional benefit from kale for shedding or just a preference?

I would use green leaf or red leaf over kale.

I used a mix of red leaf lettuce and romaine. I don't use kale in mine.

i didnt want to use kale in mine because the food and nutrition guide said that kale was a moderate veggie i believe and the red and green lettuce is more of a staple food. I wanted to stick as close to the original recipe as possible cuz i use the jello shots alot so i dont want to feed them something often thats not a staple food..

Where does everyone get thier molds from? I know my turtles would love them. Also thinking a pure veggie on for my tortiase would be great too. :)

i used regular ice trays and popped them out with a tooth pick after they set, then cut them in half...you can cut them what ever size your turt needs and then just freeze them...your could probably find come different designs at wallmart i dont mind the trays there really cheap.

I also just bought some dollar store normal ice cube trays. Once they are done setting up i just take them out with a toothpick and put them in ziplock bags.

yea i have many questions about this jello shot...kale was said to be high in calcium so i understand why that is used but the site said that kale should be moderately used. so does that jello shots made with kale are only meant to be treatS?
also, can hatchlings eat them too?

I wrote the content on the main site, I did not write the recipe. Feel free to adjust it to your preferences. As for Kale, I would not use it consistently as a main ingredient - or as your turtle's only source of greens.
