I would love to do this, I just can't find female guppies around my area.

@Spike, that sucks, I know exactly what you mean, it took me a while to find the place I deal with now. Most places only keep male guppies because there more colorful, sell better and if you have females in with them the males can harass them to death in small display tanks with too many fish. Unless your hell-bent on guppies, you should be able to find both sexes of another type of livebearer though.

I wouldn't put 2 or 3 fish in there to breed but you should be fine dropping one prego fish in there right when she's about to pop. When you notice fry take the mother out and drop her in with the turtle. Keep an air stone in there or if it has a tiny filter put a screening cloth over it and almost all survive.
