people say that they pinn the lettuce down ... how do u do this

they use a veggie clip. those are found at pet stores for like 2 bucks.

or you can use a plastic cloths line pin and a suction cup.

Veggie clips that I have used don't have metal pieces and I think a clothes line pin would.

I have some clothes pins that are completely plastic, even the piece that expands to hold the two sides together. They don't last as long as the clothes pins with metal in the middle (the plastic breaks down over time), but they're perfectly fine to hold veggies or whatever together in the tank.

I haven't seen those before. Nothing in my tank lasts long enough to warrant a clip anyway :P

When I couldnt' find a clip I just pinned the lettuce to the bottom with a rock. It looked a lot like an aquatic plant since it stood up from the bottom. Serra took to it immediately. Now she eats it at the surface!

Ya the cloths pins I can buy at the local 100yen store are completely plastic.
