Feeding and Nutrition :: Anyone?

I'm not sure about anacharis but a lot of aquatic plants require very strong light in order to grow. That's probably why WyredHardware's plants do so well 'cause they're outside in the sunlight. If you grow them indoors you will most likely need a couple of compact flourescent lights. Also don't use the air stone during the day since it will remove the CO2 that the fish exhale but the plants need to grow. At night, the plants will give off CO2 and consume O2 so you will want to turn the air stones on then, when the lights go out.

this is a great idea, I just started a 2.5 gal. betta tank with some and a couple feeders, one question though, does it have to be planted in gravel to grow?

I think Anacharis will grow free floating.

it can grow without gravel but it just keeps it in place
