Feeding and Nutrition :: Fish question

Turtle diets and eating habits discussed here.

Post Posted: Sun Apr 29, 2007 3:34 pm   Fish question

If you're going to buy new feeder fish to your turtle's tank, do you just open the bag and chuck 'em in? Or do you place the bag on the surface for the water to become the same temperature (standard fish introducing procedure)

Or do I have to set up an entire other tank for the fish and put em in quarantine?

Thanks in advance,

Kevin

I just put the bag on the surface for 15 min., and then dump them into a net(so I don't get that pet store's water in my tank), and then dump them into my tank.

Like N4784N....said - it's good not to get the pet store water in your tank.

I net them out of the bag, and drop them in one at a time. It's fun for the turtles.
