I feed my turtles those same shrimp but only once every 2 weeks, they are very fatty and not very healthy. You can try a few things-Tough love method, stop giving them shrimp and offer pellets, eventually they will come to realize that you are not giving in, and pellets is all there going to get. Or you can try keeping a few pellets inside the shrimp container, overnight the pellets will pick up the shrimp smell, and perhaps they will eat it.

When I first got Leo, she only wanted to eat shrimp pellets as well. I figured that would be OK for a few days since it meant at least she was eating. Weaning can prove to be difficult as your finding out now. What I did was moisten some reptomin baby pellets and put them in the shrimp container and then feed them to her. Maybe my baby isn't as observant as some other turtles on the site but she never noticed the difference :-) and in a week or so I was just feeding reptomin baby without the shrimp smell. If your turtles are a bit more picky it may come down to tough love, but I think in a week or so they'll come around to the scented pellets...

How long have you had them and how big are they? Are they healthy?

My gang would eat shrimp all day if I let them......but there is too much protein for that to be a regular part of their diet. I just give them shrimp as a treat (or bribe).

The only thing one of mine will take via hand feeding is shrimp. He won't go near the big hand for pellets, but I think he'd jump out of the water and do a backflip for shrimp. I coax him out of hiding with it every weekend for the tank dredging.

I used to give those to my turtle but someone said that there is to much protine and it is good for a "once in a while" treat :)
